Steps for Foundation Waterproofing

To make your foundations 100% waterproof and prevent the concrete from cracking and allowing water to enter your basement, we first perform a visual inspection, both inside and outside your house or building. Our technicians then examine the concrete walls of your foundations and determine if they need to be repaired (problems with crumbling, breaking, or cracks to be sealed).

We excavate safely to access the entire surface of the walls, down to the foundation footing. We will first call the Info-Excavation line to know the position of wires and underground infrastructure to avoid them.

Sealing Cracks

For sealing cracks, we will inject either polyurethane (for houses and cottages) or epoxy (for apartment buildings or large commercial buildings). We will cover these cracks with cement, and metal plates can be screwed on top to reinforce the concrete.

Our technicians will then apply a liquid membrane that fills microcracks and waterproofs the concrete once dry. Next, they will adhere a waterproofing membrane over the entire surface of the walls. This membrane, which features vacuum-filled air cells, is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It is waterproof and vapor-proof, keeping basements free of moisture and mold.

By promoting water flow, the waterproofing membrane minimizes water pressure on the concrete. Additionally, the membrane insulates your basement thanks to its air-filled cells.
